Dear little Léonie,

I’m writing to wish you a happy birthday and to tell you that on the 3rd I will take Communion for you! Oh, how often I think of my Léonie! But I hear that you have a sore knee. What is wrong with it? Did the pain come on of its own accord or did you fall? I hope you are rid of it soon.

Beloved little sister, as you can see, I’m only writing you a card, and it’s because I’m extremely busy. You already know that we have come into possession of Mr and Mrs Fleuriot’s garden, have had a large enclosure wall built along the river and fitted out annexes for the infirmary and the sacristy.Yet in addition, we are preparing a large room called the “Gloria” room to house all the memorabilia pertaining to her glorification: decrees, papal gifts, canonisation mementos, etc. etc. His Lordship will come and inaugurate it on the 8th and at the moment the room is still a complete mess and full of workmen of all trades. We’re wondering whether we’ll be ready in time! You can imagine how much work your Céline has, and how tiring such organising is. My days are too short for the amount of work there is and too long for me to keep my strength up. Pray for me.

We have been able to obtain the shots from “The Little Way” but we will lend them to no one but you, so don’t tell anyone outside your monastery, because it would be impossible to lend our series to anyone but you. “La Bonne Presse" [media group] is angling to buy some. Did you know that the mayor [Mr Lesigne] has died? The priest administered him the Sacraments while in a coma. His daughters are distraught. Let us hope all the same. Goodbye, dear little sister. Once again happy birthday!

With love and kisses from your little sister
