                   Darling little Céline,

We’ve been looking forward to being allowed to write to you. Oh, if only you knew how much I’ve been thinking of you, how many times every day I’ve wanted to hug you and smother you with kisses, and how much affection I have for you!

Darling little sister, we can breathe a huge sigh of relief now that everything is all over, that it went well, and that you are rid of all your troubles. Just a few more days, or weeks, and everything will be in the past and we’ll see you. I feel as though I’ll be so glad that I’ll devour you with kisses!

On the morning of the operation, every time the bell rang, I went to see whether there was a telegram, and when there was no news, I wept. Oh, how slowly time passed that morning! Yet Francis has been spoiling us by giving us very detailed news, and God has been spoiling us as well by allowing the news to be very good.

Let those who have no faith in prayer come complaining to us now, and we’ll know what to say to them. The fact that everything went well for us proves once more that God is keeping an eye on our family.

Little Jeannette, I’m afraid of tiring you so I’ll stop talking now. If I listened to my heart, I would go on forever. I ask Francis to give you a very tender kiss from me.

   Thank my big brother

            Your little sister
