                         Dear little Jeanne,

I’m just writing a line, because it’s the evening after a hard day’s work and all I have time to do is send you my love.

Concerning Anne-Marie, tell her that the Paris and Bayeux listings have been closed for a long time. We can’t do anything for her. All the places were taken by storm, apparently.

Don’t worry too much, darling little sister. All things pass. Offer your day’s troubles up to God. They aren’t small, I’m sure, but as “God loves those who give joyfully,” what good will it do you to complain? I know that it’s easier said than done. However, if someone merely has the desire to accomplish good, it counts. God sees our weakness and it’s not for nothing that He inspired His prophet to write, “I trusted in the Lord when I said, ‘I am greatly afflicted.’” Yes, little Jeanne, you are following Thérèse’s way. You love her now and desire to follow her.

See you soon, darling little sister,

                 Your little sister
