Testaments of Our Lord relating to the Passion

(Incomplete series)

Testament 1
“I tell you this, all that you ask of my Father in my name, He will give you. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy will be complete.” John 16: 23-24
Testament 2
I leave with you the “Bread of life” that I consecrated for you on the eve of my death. “Whoever eats this Bread shall have eternal life…and I, I will raise them on the last day.” John 6: 35, 55, 59
Testament 3
I leave with you the words I addressed on the cross to my Father: “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” Repeat this often on behalf of unbelievers and sinners. Luke 23: 34
Testament 4
I leave with you the words that I said to my Apostles on the eve of my Passion: “You are now in a time of grief, but I will see you again, and no one will take away your joy.” John 16:22
Testament 6
I leave you my Mother who I gave to you from the Cross. Keep well the words that she told the servers at Cana. “Do whatever he tells you”.” This fidelity in following my divine inspirations will enable you to imitate the virtues of your Mother. John 2: 5
Testament 7
I leave you the prayer that I taught my apostles from the mountain: “Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name…” As for you, your Father knows what you require even before you ask him”. Matt 6: 8-9
Testament 8
I leave you these words of encouragement. “I am the gate for the sheep…I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full…and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hands.” John 10: 7, 10, 28
Testament 9
I leave you detachment and its recompense: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured for you. For the same measure you use will be used by others to measure you.” Luke 6: 38
Testament 10
I leave you to meditate on these words that I would like to see fulfilled in you, as in your little Saint Therese: “Whoever makes himself as small as this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matt 18: 4
Testament 11
I leave you this promise: “I go to prepare a place for you…I will come again, and I will take you with me, so that where I am, there you will be also. And, you will know where I go and you will know the way.” John 14: 2-4
Testament 12
I leave you these words that I gave to my apostles before leaving them, and that are also for you: “Go, therefore, and teach unto all nations.” Like your little Saint Therese, it is necessary that you be a missionary through prayer and sacrifice. Matt 28: 19
Testament 13
I leave to you the grace to accomplish my new commandment, which is, “that you love one another, as I loved you, and that you love one another.” John 13: 34
Testament 14
I leave you the grace of this divine lesson: “Learn from me for I am meek and humble of heart, and you shall find rest for your soul”. Matt 11: 29
Testament 15
“I leave you peace; my peace I leave unto you; I do not give as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14: 27
Testament 16
I leave you this sweet assurance that you have read in my Gospel: “You are ever with me, and all that I have is yours.” Luke 15: 31
Testament 17
I leave you these words full of hope: “He that listens to my word and believes in Him who sent me shall have eternal life and shall not be condemned, but will pass from death into life.” John 5: 24
Testament 18
I leave you my submission to the will of the Father, and the prayer that I addressed to Him during my agonies in the Garden of Gethsemane. It is those words that will sustain you during trials and
temptations: “My Father, if it is possible, let this chalice pass from me; nevertheless, not as I wish, but as you will.” Matt 26: 39
Testament 19
I leave you to meditate on these consoling words: “Blessed are those servants whom the Lord when he comes will find waiting for Him. Truly, I tell you this, He will gird Himself, and He will sit them at the table, and one after another He will serve them.” Luke 12: 37
Testament 20
I leave to you, as to my apostles, these words: “As the father has loved me, so I have I loved you. Now remain in my love.” John 15: 9
Testament 21
I leave you these words that I pronounced for you: “Remain in me, as I also remain in you…Those who remain in me and I in them will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15: 4-5
Testament 22
I leave you to meditate on these words: “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” Matt 11: 28
Testament 23
I leave you the love of my holy Will, so that you will be able to say: “Jesus is with me, He will not leave me alone, for I always do what pleases Him.” John 8: 29
Testament 24
I leave you the grace “not to trouble yourself about tomorrow, because tomorrow will take care of itself; Sufficient unto each day is the trouble thereof.” Matt 6: 34
Testament 25
“You are those who have stood by me in my trials. Also, I prepare for you my kingdom just as my Father prepared it for me.” Luke 22: 28-29
Testament 26
I leave you the grace to meditate on these words that I said to you: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Which man, if his son asks for bread, would give him a snake? Or a scorpion if he asks for fish? If therefore men, even if they are evil, know how to give good things to their children, how much more will your celestial Father give good things to you if you ask Him! Matt 7: 7, 9, 10, 11).
